Le Mexique occupe la 47ème place dans le rapport 2002-2003 sur les Technologies de l'Information du World Economic Forum...
Ce rapport tente d'évaluer la performance de 82 pays quant à l'adoption, le niveau d'activité et le rendement des technologies de l'information.
Selon le rapport, La Finlande se place en toute première position en raison de l'existence d'excellents services à tous les niveaux de la société : services aux consommateurs, e-gouvernement, e-entreprises. Les Etats-Unis sont "seulement" second, ils souffrent en effet de faiblesses dans les réseaux et la diffusion.
La 47ème position du Mexique est décevante. Loin derrière le Brésil (29ème grâce à ses efforts dans l'e-gouvernement et une utilisation intensive par les entreprises), le Mexique se place derrière l'Argentine et le Chili.
Beaucoup de chemin reste à parcourir et les promesses de Vicente Fox sur l'e-gouvernement semble devoir rester des promesses...
